“Would you rather be right or happy?” –Sheri Rosenthal, DPM

How many times a week do you sacrifice your personal happiness in your business and personal relationships seeking to prove a point? The truth is that nobody else can truly see any situation in the exact same way that you do. We all have our own unique life experiences that define who we are and how we look at life. This unique experience is what determines how we look at any given situation. As we grow and learn, we realize that what is the “right” thing for us may be the “wrong” answer for someone else. When we realize that we must learn and respect other’s life experiences as much as our own, then we are able to see there is no such thing as telling someone what the right decision is for them. By allowing others to see events in a different light and acknowledging the differences, we can compromise or choose to disagree respectfully. Then we can move forward with honest communication instead of allowing fear-based emotions to bring us into conflict.
